Contact! Personal Information Manager version 0.2

Description and Motivation

Contact! is a JAVA based, cross-platform contact manager being developed as part of a complete suite of personal information management software. The goal of the project is to provide a robust yet easy to use system for managing schedules, contacts, budgets, and projects across all computing platforms. Each component is being released individually as freeware in order to collect feedback from customers about features which should be added, removed, or improved.

Summary of Features

Contact! provides a simple and clean interface for tracking basic contact information. Supported data fields include :

Name (First, Middle, Last)
Title and associated Company
Home address (street, city, state, US zip)
Business address (street, city, state, US zip)
Telephone contact information (2x home, business, fax, mobile, e-mail)
Miscelaneous notes section for extra info (ie special dates, extra phone numbers etc.)

Contact! is free to download and use without limit, however we appreciate any comments or suggestions that you may have to help us improve the product. If you like the program consider your comments to be a registration fee for a well deserving product. If you hate the program let us know why so that we can fix the problem. Either way all it will cost you is a few minutes of your time, and you will be helping us out immensely.

System Requirements

Contact isn't a very demanding application in terms of system recourses, however it does require a Java Virtual Machine. I recommend Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment or, if you prefer, their Java Development Kit.

Installation Notes

Unzip the archive Contact!_ver_0.2.zip into the directory where you wish to keep your contact Manager. There should be 3 files in the archive:

Contact!.exe: The main executable file. Double click this to run Contact!.
Contact!.zip: This is a data archive used by the main application. DO NOT UNZIP THIS FILE !!!
readme.txt: Release notes for the Current Version of Contact!
